March 2010 Pastors Perspective

2 Sam 5:24-25 says, “When you hear a sound like marching feet in the tops of the mulberry tress, be on the alert! That will be the signal that the Lord is moving ahead of you to strike down the Philistine army.”

Dearheart, there is no doubt in my mind that “God is on the move” at Harvest Church.  There is a stirring of the Spirit in the hearts and lives of His beloved.  Truth is, Christ’s bride should always be prayerful, always seeking the unction of the Holy One to rest upon their hearts, that the kingdom of Christ may come, and that His “will be done on earth, even as it is in heaven;” but there are times when God seems to especially favor Zion and such seasons should remind us of “the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees.”
It is at times like these that we should be all the more earnest in prayer, wrestling more at the throne than we have done before.  Action should be prompt and vigorous. The tide is flowing—let us pull manfully for the shore. That God would give us Pentecostal outpourings and Pentecostal laborers.
We want to get into the pool when the “waters are stirred.” It is in these Divine moments that we have a peculiar power in prayer; the Spirit of God gives you joy and gladness; the Scripture is open to you; the promises are applied; you walk in the light of God’s countenance; you have true freedom and more closeness of communion with Christ than ever before. O’ that each of God’s servants could hear with ears of faith “the sound of marching in the mulberry trees” and set high the sail of our prayers to receive the breath of the Almighty.
God is moving, His kingdom is advancing in power and glory.  Let us be sure to have our sail high in the air.
Child of God do not miss the breath of God for lack of preparation, a grumbling spirit, or a besetting sin.  As your Pastor I admonish you to seek the help of God, that you may be more earnest in duty, that you may be more constant in prayer, and that you may be more holy in conversation as we prepare our hearts for the return of the Lord Jesus Christ and a great move of God in the days ahead.  Victory is coming, God is moving, our enemies will be defeated, the glory of the Lord is on His church.  I can hear the sound of marching even today.

November 2009 – Pastors Perspective

Recently during devotions I was reading Psalm 26:6-8 which says, “I scrub my hands with purest soap, then join hands with the others in the great circle, dancing around your altar singing God-songs at the top of my lungs, telling God-stories.  God, I loveliving with you; your house glows with your glory.”   MESSAGE BIBLE

September 2009 – Pastors Perspective

1 Corinthians 12:14 says, “Now the body is not made up of one part but of many.” This statement is certainly true of Harvest Church.  We are many parts functioning together for the purpose of glorifying God and reaching our world with His love.  I’ve listed below a number of the different ministries our [...]

August 2009 – Pastors Perspective

Someone recently stopped by my office and gave me a little article entitled:
TOP INDICATORS THAT THE ECONOMY IS BAD
1.        CEO’s are now playing miniature golf

July 2009 – Pastors Perspective

Each month I’m given the opportunity to write a few words about the perspective of my heart.  1 Thessalonians  5:11 says, “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” This month I would like to use this column to thank all those who make Harvest Church a [...]

June 2009 – Pastors Pespective

In the last year most of the news through our media outlets is stories about the economic downturn.  Things are tough financially throughout the country, and now more than ever, we need to keep our faith in Jehovah Jireh (The God Who Provides.)  Along with keeping our eyes on Jesus, we also need to plan [...]

May 2009 – Pastors Perspective

Years ago, a famous golfer was invited by the king to play in a golf tournament. He accepted the invitation, and the king flew his private jet over the United States to pick up the pro. They played golf for several days, and enjoyed a good time. As the golfer was getting on the plane [...]
